We’re always on the lookout for high-quality, affordable fragrances. So we put the two biggest players in the space - Dossier and Oakcha - head to head. One of these brands was a clear winner on value, scent, and overall buying experience. Read on to find out which one!

Best Value… Dossier

While both brands offer affordable fragrances, Dossier is the winner in terms of value. Their scents start at just $29 for a 50ml bottle and you can often score 20% off these already-low prices. Compare that to Oakcha, whose list prices start at $39.95 for a smaller 30ml bottle. Sure, Oakcha often has steep discounts, but this isn’t much help when the on-sale fragrances are sold out.

Best Scent… Another Dossier Win

Both brands offer a huge range of scents inspired by larger designers (hint: you don’t need to spend $250 to smell great!). But for me, Dossier delivered my favorite fragrance of the ones I tested. I’m a huge Tom Ford fan and Dossier’s Floral Jasmine (inspired by Tom Ford’s Jasmin Rouge) hit all the right notes. It retails for just $39, less than a tenth of Tom Ford’s retail price ($400!).

Overall Experience… It’s Dossier

When it comes to the overall experience, I’m going with Dossier again. Their website was a breeze to navigate and I really loved their layered scents recommendations (why wear one fragrance when you can wear two?). Oakcha’s site was also easy to navigate but didn’t feel nearly as premium. Their fragrance ingredient notes were slightly less detailed than Dossier’s and their “You May Like This” recommendations never felt very relevant to me.

The Winner… Dossier

If you’re looking for a great affordable fragrance, you can’t go wrong with Dossier or Oakcha. But for this reviewer, the clear head-to-head winner was Dossier. Their scents smelled just like the designers they’re inspired by, they’re fairly priced and their website is super easy to get around. If you’re looking to upgrade your fragrance game, definitely check out Dossier!
