Working for those two lines on your pregnancy test? Experts recommend beginning a fertility-support routine as soon as you’ve decided you want to conceive—helping ensure healthy embryo development and lowering the risk of complications.1

We reviewed the top four fertility support supplements: Perelel’s Conception Support Pack, Needed’s The Fertility Support Plan, Bird&Be’s The Power Prenatal for Females, and Ritual’s Prenatal Multivitamin on 1) ingredients, 2) cost, 3) expertise, and 4) convenience. Perelel is the clear winner with its comprehensive fertility boosting ingredients, accessible price, OB/GYN-led formulation, and easy daily sachets.

How We Chose These Vitamins to Review

To help you make the most effective and safe choice for fertility-boosting vitamins, we:

  • Enlisted Vanessa Dyer (RDN), our prenatal-focused Registered Dietitian and fertility expert.
  • Included brands that follow the FDA’s current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and utilize third-party testing only.
  • Recruited The Customer Digest (TCD) testers to share their fertility supplement experiences.

What to Look for in a Fertility Supplement

Fertility supplements build up essential vitamins and minerals before pregnancy. That provides your body the nutrients it needs to support egg health, promote a healthier embryo, and support a successful pregnancy from day one.2 The best conception support supplement:

  • Contains essential nutrients, like
    • Folate: Vital for healthy neural tube formation, which helps prevent birth defects.3
    • CoQ10: Powerful antioxidant that enhances egg quality and overall embryo viability.4
    • Choline: Aids brain and spinal cord growth.5
    • Iron: Helps carry oxygen to the embryo.6
    • Selenium: Antioxidant that shields egg cells from damage and improves fertility outcomes.7
    • Omega-3 DHA and EPA: Help to support both mother's cognitive health and baby’s brain development. EPA also supports DHA transport and absorption.8,9
    • Vitamins A, B-complex, C, D, E, and K: Support mother and embryo cell development, hormone regulation, and red blood cell production.10
  • Is formulated by OB/GYNs, to ensure safety and efficacy.
  • Prioritizes convenience, so it’s easy to take consistently.
  • Meets rigorous safety standards through third-party testing.
We reviewed Needed’s, Ritual’s, Perelel’s, and Bird&Be’s conception support supplements

Now, let’s take a look at how Perelel, Needed, Bird&Be, and Ritual fertility supplements compare.

Best Ingredients: Perelel

Perelel is the only brand that contains all the essential nutrients recommended for conception: folate, CoQ10, choline, iron, selenium, Omega-3 DHA and EPA, and a range of essential vitamins in concentrated and safe doses. Notably, Perelel has the most folate of the four options, supporting neural tube development during early pregnancy. Even better, it uses methyfolate, an active and more bioavailable form of folate.Perelel contains all the important nutrients needed for healthy conception and fertility, ” says Dyer.

Each brand’s dosages below:

Perelel is the only brand that contains all nutrients essential for fertility support

Needed, also formulated for conception, comes in second. It omits iron, which supports placenta and fetus development and decreases risk of ovulatory infertility.11

Bird&Be contains 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 (38,462% daily value), an unnecessarily high amount of B12, and lacks vitamin K2, key to fetal bone development.12

Ritual ranks last, missing nearly half of the ingredients critical to embryo health and conception support - like CoQ10, selenium, Omega-3 EPA, and vitamins A, B16, and C. Its “all-in-one” approach does not differentiate between conception and pregnancy prenatal support.

Best Value: Tie for Perelel and Ritual

Here’s how the four brands compare on monthly price:

*Perelel price includes 20% TCD discount.

Perelel matches Ritual as the most affordable option at ~$39 per month. Bonus: they are both HSA/FSA eligible. At $252 per month, Needed is extremely pricey, and is only partially HSA/FSA eligible.

Perelel and Ritual tie for value at ~$39 / month

Best Expertise: Perelel

Perelel, Needed, Ritual, and Bird&Be are all founded by women and mothers with the goals of filling gaps they experienced in prenatal and maternal nutrition.

But Perelel is the only brand founded by an OB/GYN, Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, MD, OB/GYN, FACOG. The Conception Support Pack was formulated with two high profile reproductive endocrinologists: Dr. Andy Huang, MD, FACOG - who helped the Kardashians and Chrissy Teigen with their fertility journeys - and Dr. Brian Levine, MD, MS, FACOG - founding partner and practice director of CCRM Fertility of New York.

Perelel is the only OB/GYN-founded brand

Most Convenient: Bird&Be and Perelel

Perelel and Bird&Be are dosed in pre-portioned daily sachets, making them simple and travel-friendly.

Ritual comes in a standard bottle—some TCD testers found it less convenient to carry the whole bottle when traveling or going to work.

Needed’s 15 pills plus a scoop of powder felt like overkill for most TCD testers: “a ridiculous pill regimen,” one noted.

Needed’s daily serving of 15 pills + 1 scoop of powder (!) overwhelmed TCD testers

Best Fertility Supplement: Perelel Conception Support Pack

Taking a dedicated conception supplement is a great way to support fertility and prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy. Perelel proved to be the standout choice—providing all critical nutrients in one convenient daily sachet. It’s also the best value and the only brand founded by an OB/GYN.

“I recommend Perelel’s Conception Support Pack to my clients trying to conceive. It’s research-backed, evidence-based, and OB/GYN-led, says Dyer, our Registered Dietitian.
